Gamescom 2014

Gamescom 2014 proved to be one of the most exciting and intriguing gaming events of the year. As the biggest trade and private videogame event in the world, over 335,000 visited during the four day event. Gamers rubbed shoulders with some of the world’s foremost game developers, experienced the excitement of fresh announcements, and got the chance to see some exciting accessories and tech that had yet to hit the shelves.

From Alien Isolation to WWE 2k15, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare to Fifa Ultimate Team, a host of exciting games and cool previews sat side-by-side.


Coming with a strong line up, Microsoft kicked off Gamescom 2014 with the eagerly anticipated Assassin’s Creed: Unity. Fans were pleased with the announcement of the latest instalment in Xbox’s flagship franchise: Halo.


Giving PlayStation fans a whole host of titles to look forward to, the biggest announces from Sony at Gamescom 2014 included the re-reveal of Until Dawn, surprise news of Tearaway making its way to PlayStation 4, along with DayZ to arrive on next gen. Indie games were also the talk of the town, with a ton of games set to hit stores.


As one of the most popular games around, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare saw the most hype from Activision. Showing off with the multiplayer world premiere featuring new weapons and equipment, fans both new and old where impressed.

EA Games

Trying a bit of a different approach, EA called on footballing legend Peter Schmeichel to talk through Fifa Ultimate Team. Other highlights included The Sims 4, Mass Effect 4, and the latest instalment of popular series Battlefield: Hardline.
